Dallas’ skyline contains several buildings over 700 feet (210 m) in height. Although some of Dallas’ architecture dates from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, most of the notable architecture in the city is from the modernist and postmodernist eras.

LDS Population

Dallas, Texas has 15 stakes and an active LDS community with .95% of the city being LDS. The Dallas Temple, built in 1984, was the first temple in Texas and was the 30th operating temple. It is a sister building to the Boise Idaho Temple and the Chicago Illinois Temple.

LDS History

In 1913, Harriett M Knight, a widow with five children moved from Kelsey to Dallas which had no organized branch. Eliza E. Davis was the only other Latter-day Saint living in Dallas, having moved there in 1908. Other Latter-day Saints moved to Dallas over time. Missionaries occasionally visited these urban Church members and the Dallas Branch was organized sometime between 1918 and 1921.
